我學(xué)英語，已經(jīng)有六年你的“歷史”了。
我從三歲起，就開始學(xué)英語了。當(dāng)時(shí)我什么也不會(huì)，只能跟著老師背幾個(gè)單詞，唱幾首歌，我們的教材也十分簡單�？墒悄菚r(shí)的我卻覺得很難很難，但我后來因?yàn)橐患戮拖矚g上了英語。
有一次我和媽媽去看表演，有一個(gè)看起來十二歲的男孩走上臺(tái)來，他說：“我給大家表演英語節(jié)目�！庇谑�，他說出一連串我一句也不會(huì)的英語故事。
從那以后，我每當(dāng)不想寫作業(yè)、背單詞時(shí)，都會(huì)想起那個(gè)男孩。他的英語那樣流利，幾乎是脫口而出。我想像他那樣，于是發(fā)奮學(xué)習(xí)英語。
三年后，我六歲了，這時(shí)我的英語已經(jīng)很好了，雖然我剛剛小學(xué)一年級，媽媽一斤考慮給我調(diào)換英語班了。于是我來到了名叫“英橋外語學(xué)�！钡腵名校，我很喜歡，媽媽同意了，我跟了一個(gè)班，一點(diǎn)都不難。
又過了三年，我已經(jīng)小學(xué)三年級了，英語已經(jīng)跟三歲時(shí)我看到的男孩水平差不多了，家里擺了許多獎(jiǎng)狀和考級證書。三年級學(xué)校就有英語，我是一個(gè)有六年基礎(chǔ)的英語“高手”了。我終于如愿以償，上演了幾個(gè)英語節(jié)目。
又過了半年，我是三年級下學(xué)期的小女孩了。家里一本又一本的英語教材輔導(dǎo)我學(xué)習(xí)。
現(xiàn)在，我的英語很棒了，可以跟外國人做簡單的英語對話。

BEIJING, May 14 (Xinhua) -- The worst quake-hit areas in southwest China will see rainfall cease and can expect a cloudy sky in the next two days starting from Wednesday night, according to the National Meteorological Center (NMC) forecast.
But there could be more rain in Wenchuan, Dujiangyan and Beichuan on Saturday and Monday, which would hamper the rescue efforts.
The southern part of Sichuan Province will get more rain, or even heavy rain and thunderstorms in some areas, in the next three days, the agency said.
It also warned that previous rainfall, coupled with the devastating quake, would raise the danger of further landslides, collapses, or mud-rock flows.
Landslides along with other damages caused by the quake had cut roads leading to the worst-hit areas, blocking rescue efforts as well.
Thunderstorms and heavy rain also forced the military forces to call off a planned parachute troops and supplies into Wenchuan on Tuesday.
The 7.8-magnitude quake that rocked southwest China had already claimed more than 14,000 lives and the death toll is still expected to rise.

The large number of our population has become one of the most serious problems of our society. According to a recent survey of the National Bureau of Statistics there are more than 1.3 billion people in our country which account for about 1/5 of all the people in the world. The same survey also predicts that our population will grow quickly in the years to come.
Overpopulation has brought about a series of negative effects to our economic development and social security. In the first place too many people impose a heavy burden on our environment. As a result we suffer from a shortage of fresh water and natural resources. In the second place as the supply of labor greatly exceeds the demand of the society many people become employed. This is a source of social unrest. Last but not least we have to manufacture all kinds of products to meet the needs of the people which causes environment pollution to our lakes and land.
Serious though the problem seems we have to take some measures to tackle it. On the one hand the government should carry out more strictly the policy of family planning thus reducing the total number of population. On the other hand all the people should realize the harms of overpopulation. With the concerted efforts of all the parties concerned we’re sure to solve the problem in the future.
Which is more important health or wealth? When given this question different people have varied answers. Some insist that health plays a more important role in our life while others see more advantages arising from wealth.
The first group of people quote the old saying "Health is above wealth" to prove their idea. They argue that on the one hand a strong person can do almost anything as long as he/she tries hard. On the other hand however rich people will not be able to enjoy the wealth if their days are numbered.
In contrast the advocates of wealth have such arguments as follows. For one thing wealthy people will be able to buy more healthful foods. For another they can enjoy better facilities to improve their health. (Take my neighbor Lao Wang as an example. He had a heart attack and is in hospital. However he cannot afford the expensive operation which costs as much as 100000 yuan. Therefore he has to lie in bed hopelessly. If he were a rich man his life could be saved.)
