Kevin: Well, let's make it your favorite song from the sixties.
Keiko: I guess, that's a little easier. No, wait, there's a lot of good songs from the sixties.
Kevin: Okay, how about your favorite Beatles song from the sixties?
Keiko: That still give me 10 years to choose from.
Kevin: All right. How about 1965?
Keiko: That's better. Wait. I have no idea what songs came out in 1965.
Kevin: Here, take a look at this top song hits chart from 1965.
Keiko: Thanks. Oh, okay. This is easy. My favorite Beatle song from 1965 has gotta be "Yesterday.".
Kevin: Isn't "Yesterday" every Japanese person's favorite Beatle song?
Keiko: I have no idea. What makes you think that?
Kevin: Well every time I go to a karaoke bar in Japan and look at the song selections, I only find about 3 English songs: "Yesterday", "My Way", and "I Left My Heart in San Francisco"
Keiko: Oh, that's funny but you're right. My gosh, you must have been to a lot of karaoke bars.
Kevin: As a matter of fact I have. I swear they all use the same song list book.
Keiko: By the way, what's your favorite song from 1965?
Kevin: "I Can't Get No Satisfaction" by the Rolling Stones.
Keiko: I'm not surprised.
Many people are inclined to do one job in theirlives. In their opinions, people who change their jobsfrequently are superficial and tactless. They believethat the only way to success is to stick to one job, for constant practice in a professional field helpsmake an txpert.
But there are still many people who don’t agree. They argue that change means progress. If you are not satisfied with your present job, ofcourse you have the right to replace it with a more challenging and better paid one. Everychange is a step to further success. This idea may be. the reason why they change their jobs sooften.
For my part, I think it reasonable to change your job if you have a better opportuniry. Butonce you have found a position where you can fully display your ability, it is advisable tosettle down to it and put all your efforts into it. Only in this way, can you get the true joy ofachieving your goal.

Nowadays living off campus enjoys great popularity among college students. Why, then, do students do so when they are provided with very modern apartments and good services on campus? The reasons can be listed as follows.
First, living off-campus can relieve the student from time consuming and energy consuming trivialities. Since people from different places have different personalities, habits, and interests, etc, some students think that it is difficult for them to get along with their pals. If they live off-campus, they don't have to spend time worrying about and thinking of how to get along with their roommates. In this way, they will have more time for their studies. Secondly, living off-campus can offer them a lot of freedom. Freed from the regulations of the university, they can do whatever they want in whatever time they like. For example, they can stay up late, reading books or surfing on the Internet. Lastly, living off campus can give them more privacy. If they live in a dormitory, they have no "human rights" so far as privacy is concerned.
I think living off-campus has both its benefits and shortcomings. If we live off campus we will not have the chance to experience the rich and colorful social life on campus. Away from our classmates, we will not have the chance to learn how to communicate with those who have divergent opinions. We will lose the chance to learn to cooperate with others.
More and more students like to live off campus rather than on campus nowadays. There have been two opposing views about living off campus. One view states that renting a house outside campus is better. Another view, in contrast to the first one, believes that it is more harm than good to live off campus. I would like to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of renting a house off campus.
The advantages could be as follows. First of all, time management is easier if living off campus, because students can make their own plan of when to get up, when to sleep, when to have meal and when to study. Students can also burn the midnight oil when the study is very busy. Secondly, students can have a free living style. They can cook for themselves in their house. They can play games, watch movies, and do whatever they want in the house, and these are not possible, or at least not convenient when living on campus. Finally, renting a house could help students learn how to live by themselves, and help them learn to control their behaviours.
The disadvantages are also obvious. In the first place, it may be not safe for a student living outside the campus without the supervision or help from the staff of the university. When emergencies happen, students have no one to ask for help. In the second place, some students may not be able to control themselves very well. They may addict to computer games, or even gambling, because nobody would control them. Last but not least, it should be more expensive to rent a house and live outside the campus.
To sum up, it is hard to say living off campus is good or bad. It is reasonable to say that it depends on the characteristics of the student. If he/she can control himself/herself well enough, it may be a good idea to live off campus. Otherwise, living on campus may be a suitable way of living.
Advertisements can be seen everywhere in modern society. They appear on the TV screen. They occupy a conspicuous place in newspapers and magazines. They are displayed or painted on walls and even on buses. Indeed, it is difficult nowadays to find a public place without advertisements.
It is true that in economic activities advertisements play an important role. They tell people about new products and help promote sales. Unfortunately some of the advertisements are not true. They cheat consumers one way or another. So, admitting that advertisements can help us, we should also beware of them from time to time.
