Bart:: There's a new resurgence in binge drinking (聚眾飲酒作樂)among American college students.
Lisa: Yes, I've head about it. So what?.
Bart: Unfortunately, college women are gaining ground on (追上，接近，逼近...) men for the title of campus drunk.(校園酒鬼的稱號)
Lisa: Really? Drinking among college students has been going on for decades. Why are women drinking more now?
Bart: I don't know, but the percentage of college women drinking to get drunk has more than tripled over the past 15 years, says a new report from Columbia University.
Lisa: I guess that's really not that surprising. Women are beginning to assert themselves more in every aspect of society.
Bart: I know a lot of people are shrugging this off (對某事聽之任知，不予重視)as just a teenage rite of passage, but it's more serious than that. Lisa: Aren't there any campuses that are trying to do anything about this problem?
Bart: Yes, as a matter of fact, the University of Maryland found that 30% of its students actually preferred alcohol-free social events. Officials offered cash awards fro groups sponsoring the best alcohol-free party. hey, would you like something to drink.

“該死的英語，我要把你‘消滅’干凈！”我仰天大叫了一聲，手伸向書桌前的那個“龐然大物”——英漢詞典。
熟悉我的人，可能會懷疑這還是我嗎？其實也不能怪他們，從前的我是班里出了名的英語“困難戶”。一遇到不會做的英語練習題，立馬放棄，任由它在作業(yè)本上“張牙舞爪”。同學建議我可以多查查字典，我卻嫌這個太麻煩，所以家里的英漢詞典從買來起放在書架上都沒挪過地方。老師也曾重點“關照”過我，可是只要老師一放松，我又立馬恢復原形，為此老師頭疼不已。
為了幫助我這個“困難戶”，老師派了陳彬這位“愛心人士”來幫助我學習英語。
我想像了陳彬同學幫我學習英語的N個方法，但卻萬萬料想不到，這位同學竟然極力推薦我玩一款游戲，并向我列舉了它的種種好玩之處。天哪！這葫蘆里賣的是什么藥��？看著一臉疑惑的'我，陳彬只是笑了笑，沒說話。

Training someone to do a job is an important task. It requires a good education, work experience, and skilled job performance. Of these three requirements, I believe it is most important that a potential job trainer be judged on the quality of his or her previous work.
A person may be well educated, but not able to perform a job proficiently. A doctor may know how to treat childhood diseases, but not be able to train medical students to perform surgery. An accountant may be able to balance a company’s accounts, but not be able to help the company’s executives invest their money.
A person may have a lot of work experience, but not be able to do the job well. Time is not the best measure of quality. A mother may spend 17-years raising her children, but not be able to train young mothers to care for their infants. A typist may have typed ten-years worth of letters, but may not type over 30 words a minute.
A person who does a job well is the one you want to be a trainer. I want to learn to fly a plane from a pilot who has faced a lot of mechanical problems in flight and never had an accident. I want to learn how to make money from a billionaire not form a salaried investment broker.
As in all things, it is quality that we look for, not general knowledge or time spent in an occupation. I want others to learn from the best, so they can be the best, too.
