      go fishing

Everybody has some hobbies.I like playing soccer, watching TV, listening to music.but fishing is my favorite relaxation.

I like fishing not because I like to eat fish but because I enjoy the wonderful time while I am fishing.

My father has a friend named Huang Cheng who lives in the countryside and owns a big fish pond. He is good at fish-farming. There are many kinds of fish in his fish pond. He can easily support his family with the income from the fish pond.

Last Sunday was a lovely, sunny day. My father drove me to his friend's place with two new fishing rods, which he bought not long ago. The scene was really beautiful there in the countryside. Uncle Huang took us to a very good place for fishing and gave us some bait-earth worms. First, I was a little afraid of the Earthworms. Uncle Huang taught me how to use them. Then we started to fish.

My father put some fish food into the water. Soon the part of the water attracted many fish to gather there. As soon as I put the fishhook into the water, the fish nibbled at the bait. I thought that it rose to the bait. So I raised the fishing rod, the fish swam away and my fishing line got entangled in some weeds. What a pity!I was too impatient. I should have waited for the fish to snap at the bait for some time and then I could catch it.

So from then on, I became very careful and patient. At last, I caught eight big fish and my father caught only three little fish. I was so happy with my success in fishing.Fishing can make me more and more patient and comfident!I love fishing!

With the continuous progress of science and technology, great changes have taken place in the way people progress has brought great convenience to people. Nonetheless, it has also made many people lazy.

First, the widespread use of Internet technology, especially smart phones, allows people to know what is happening outside without going out. People just need to pick up a mobile phone, connect to the Internet, and open the corresponding software, then the major eventsof the world will be caught in their no longer have to open books and newspapers or go out to get information. Second, the appearance of takeaways has also made people lazier. People can get whatever they want to eat without cooking for themselves or even getting up to go to a restaurant. In addition, online shopping is more enjoyable for people. Many people forgo the tiring activity of going to the mall, instead, they lie in the sofa and just move their fingers. Therefore, the decline in exercise has left many people in declining health.

To sum up, the ever-changing technology brings convenience to people, but it also makes people , while improving the quality of life, people should learn to use science and technology correctly instead of relying on it blindly.

Education plays a very important role in the modernization of our country. The modernization of our country calls for the modernization of education in advance. However, the development of education is by no means balanced all over the country. In some poverty-stricken areas, a surprisingly large number of school-agars cannot afford to go to school. As a result, the Project Hope is initiated to promote education in those areas.

This project, in my eyes, is necessary especially in two respects. For one thing, if children cant gain access to education, the lack of human resources will be inevitable, and how can we hope to get rid of illiteracy and poverty? For another, at present it is beyond the ability of our government to provide enough money for so many school dropouts. The project hope accepts donations from organizations, enterprises and individuals, and then distributes the fund scientifically and reasonably to those in need of help.

My suggestion is that all of us who have the financial ability join in the Project to help those school-agers. Only when all of us extend the helping hands can we hope to modernize our education and our nation.

With the development of material prosperity, advertisements have become more and more important in our daily life.

Advertisements give latest information about products. If there were no advertising, consumers could not know about goods in their local shops. Advertising helps sell to a bigger market. Therefore, as more goods are sold they are rtisements also provide money for newspapers, magazines, radios and TV stations, etc.

But there are also some opinions against people think that advertisements do not give much information but only try to persuade you to buy. They create a demand for goods that are not really needed. Besides, advertising adds to the cost of goods. Further more, they are ugly to look at and spoil the enviroments.

Actually, rtisingis without exception. But in today's world, advertising is not only necessary but also helpful.

      My Homework

Ispend about one and a half hours doing homework every day.

After dinner,I have a rest.Sometimes I go out for a walk and listen to music. Then I begin to do my homework,I finish it at around 9:00pm.After that,I play chess with my father or do some reading.I go to bed before 9:30pm.Because enough sleep makes me energetic.

All of my homework is helpful. For example,do some listening practice, read notebooks and preview the new lessons.Because of the helpful homework,I am more interested in learning and I can get good grades.

And I have time to relax and do things by myself.

      My Homework

Ihave to spend three or four hours doing my homework every day.

After dinner,I begin to do my homework at once.I keep doing it till 10pm or 11pm.It makes me exhausted,so I often feel sleepy and tired in class.

Some of the homework is helpful, but some of it isn’t at all.For example,I must write the English words twenty times, and I must copy the test papers.Because of the boring homework,I nearly lose interest in learning. And I have little time to relax and do things by myself.

human vision like that of other primates has evolved in an arboreal environment. in the dense complex world of a tropical forest, it is more important to see well that to develop an acute sense of smell. in the course of evolution members of the primate line have acquired large eyes while the snout has shrunk to give the eye an unimpeded view. of mammals only humans and some primates enjoy color vision. the red flag is black to the bull. horses live in a monochrome world .light visible to human eyes however occupies only a very narrow band in the whole electromagnetic spectrum. ultraviolet rays are invisible to humans though ants and honeybees are sensitive to them.

humans though ants and honeybees are sensitive to them. humans have no direct perception of infrared rays unlike the rattlesnake which has receptors tuned into wavelengths longer than 0.7 micron. the world would look eerily different if human eyes were sensitive to infrared radiation. then instead of the darkness of night, we would be able to move easily in a strange shadowless world where objects glowed with varying degrees of intensity. but human eyes excel in other ways. they are in fact remarkably discerning in color gradation. the color sensitivity of normal human vision is rarely surpassed even by sophisticated technical devices.

If Sydney is crowned as New York of South Pacific Ocean, then,Melbourne can be said as London here.

This is an ancient city, and meanwhile a beautiful ‘garden city’,streets are orderly paved like chessboard, various buildings of both ancient and modern styles are harmoniously blended, there are quite a few operas and Broadway musicals on show here everyday.

This is also Australia’s residential center for immigrants. Most of the immigrants who flocked into Australia live in Melbourne and Sydney.Immigrants started their new life here but keep their own traditions and customs.Wanna taste Italian food and drinks?Just go to Lygon street.Wanna know Chinese culture? Then visit China Town.In China Town, there are not only Chinese restaurants, but also Malaysian,Thailand and Japanese restaurants,so this is not just a window for you to get to know Chinese people, but a best place to know East Asian people and South East Asian people as well.

Goods sold in China Town are quite unique. You’ll embrace a variety of choices and also reasonable prices, that’s why China Town is so popular among tourists. My companions all came back with large and small shopping bags, and reluctant to leave until they bought too much to carry.

What worth mention, traveling in Melbourne, the most forgettable experience is to watch the homing of the smallest penguins in the world. In a place 140 kilometers south of Melbourne, there’s a tiny island called Philip.Every dusk, groups of penguins stagger back to their home.Their teeter when stepping onto the bank is extremely lovely.

There are some individuals who argue that, compared to the environment protection, the top priority is supposed to given to economic development. They deem that environmental problems are inevitable and unavoidable in the process of economic development. They are only the by products of economic development, which can be handled later when we have the time and money.

However, other individuals hold different opinions that environment protection should be attached more importance than economic development in that present serious environmental problems will threaten the health of the residents and hinder the advance of the economy.

As far as I am concerned, environmental protection and economic development can coexist in parallel and can stay in harmony. Our ultimate aim in economic development is to provide a comfortable and happy life for our people. What is the point of economic development if we achieve it at the cost of our environment? There has been much evidence to prove that a balance between the two helps more rapid and continuous development of the society.

Directions: For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write a composition on the topic Sandstorms. You should write at least 150 words, and base your composition on the outline given below:

      1. Sandstorms are becoming an urgent problem

      2. Possible solutions

      Sandstorms

There is no denying the fact that sandstorms have become a grave problem with which we are confronted. Reports are often heard upon sandstorms attacking North China and other parts of the world. Actually, sandstorms have become so widespread that they have severely affected peoples daily life and hindered the development of economy.

A number of factors could account for the rampancy of sandstorms, but the following might be the most critical ones. In the first place, overgrazing and clear-cutting have devastated the vegetation in formerly green mountains and plains. Consequently, desert has spread and become the major source of sandstorms. In the second place, the bare construction cites in cities also contribute to sandstorms.

In view of the seriousness of the situation, effective measures must be taken immediately before things get worse. In the first place, it is imperative that pertinent laws be worked out and rigidly enforced to protect vegetation. In the second place, a deep-going, widespread and ever-lasting campaign should be launched to enhance peoples awareness of environmental protection. With proper laws and an alert public, it will only be a matter of time before sandstorms become things of the past.
