Desertification is a process. In many parts of the world, the desert is spreading and the experts have tired to find all the ways to stop the cropland from being desert. In order to call for the public's attention to fight against desertification, June 17th has been named World Day to Combat Desertification.
Desertification is a serious problem. In the northern part of China, many areas have become desert and the local farmers have lost their farmlands, which makes them suffer great economic loss. As the environment loses the green part, if this situation keeps spreading, then human being will face the great challenge to make a living.
The fight against the desert needs everyone's action. Experts have tried to invent new technology to return the wasted land green. While for the ordinary people, we should have the consciousness of protecting the environment any time, such as do not throw the rubbish away. We should also make an effort to plant more trees.
Now with effort that people make together, the desertification in our country is no longer spread, which is such inspiring news. In the coming future, we hope to return the world more green.

Children’s attending classes in their spare time has become a controversial issue. Those who are for it think that the practice is good for the long term benefit of children and can enlighten children’s interest, broaden their horizon. Those who are against it hold the view that children have been deprived of their free time by attending classes they are not interested and thus become mechanical learners, at the price of their own interests.

I think children should have the right to enjoy their childhood, and to play. But certain guidance by parents to attend some classes is necessary since the parents have reasoning power and experience to raise the children to be prepared for their future with persified interest and competence. But these classes should be refreshing and be able to attract children’s interest and not too much.
我認(rèn)為孩子們應(yīng)該有享受童年和玩耍的權(quán)利。但是去參加某些課程還是需要有家長(zhǎng)的一些指導(dǎo)，因?yàn)楦改赣型评砟芰徒?jīng)驗(yàn)，可以培養(yǎng)孩子們各種興趣和能力，為自己的將來(lái)做好準(zhǔn)備。但這些課程應(yīng)該讓人耳目一新，能夠吸引孩子們的興趣，而不是太多。

Some people enjoy living together with their parents after they have grown up. They hold the opinion because, living with parents, they can take better care of their parents and vice versa. Meanwhile, they can turn to their parents for help if they get into trouble or have some difficulties. To them, life in a big family seems to be more enjoyable than that in a small family.
Others, however, prefer to live separately. They cherish the idea to be independent of their parents, seek more freedom and wish to have a place of their own, in which they can do what they like. Bedsides, they dont want to be overprotected by their parents but long for chance to face the society by themselves.
As to me, I like an independent life style in spite of the fact I love my parents. Different generations have different life styles and values. What one generations likes may not be another generations fondness. Living separately, each generation can enjoy different value. In addition, by leading an independent life, I can train my character and develop my own ability to deal with things encountered in my life.
